That event was nothing less than the uprising of the Chilean Navy took place in 1931 and had in front of us the ringleader, at which point we decided to do a documentary with the pure enthusiasm and unconditional love to the movies. We Don Manuel for more than two years with a VHS camera kindly lent us Sergio Navarro, was born on Cape Collective Astica and rescue his first character of national importance. That movie was called OF WEAPONS AND LETTERS , and tried to narrate these events and as our friend, Don Manuel had participated in them. It was unveiled in very small circles, but it was the beginning of a documentary concerns the class members: Ricardo Carrasco, Gonzalo Duque, Vicente Parrini, Sergio Navarro and Felipe Tirado.
After this work came the idea of \u200b\u200bmaking a second film, this time with Jorge Teillier. We convinced him to take a trip to her hometown and head Lautaro and armed with a bit more professional equipment, we recorded all that Umatic documentary, the film Nostalgia for the Farwest was the second work group and the last. Today just remaster the second film to digital system for re-release in DVD format and to publicize one of the most extensive and unpublished materials of the poet's life, all thanks to National Council for Culture and Arts - Audiovisual Fund.
